Portugal is a privileged partner to invest in Africa
The president of the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal (AICEP), on the 22nd of this month, considered that Portugal is a privileged partner for investments in Africa and could be Europe's link to the continent.
"Portugal is perceived as a platform for those who want to do business in African Portuguese Speaking Countries (PALOP) and is a credible partner", said President Luís Castro Henriques, during the Portugal-Africa business seminar "Export `Verde` - Internationalization of companies in the era of sustainability", organized by the Portuguese presidency of the European Union, which took place on the 22nd in a virtual format from Lisbon.
He adds that it is not by chance that foreign companies seek partnerships with Portuguese companies, pointing to the example of partnerships that Chinese companies have made with the construction company Mota-Engil.
He also mentioned that Portugal has talent, technological innovations and national and international experiences, more specifically in energy efficiency and renewables, being a pioneer in this area.
In addition, he pointed out, Portugal can be "the link between Europe and Africa" in terms of the energy transition: "Africa and Europe are committed to accelerating the green transition and sustainable development, and Portugal can be the successful link between the two continents, "said Castro Henriques.
