Incentives for the return of emigrants extended to the creation of their own business

The director of the contact point for the return of the emigrant to Portugal stated that the incentives for the return of emigrants will extend to the creation of self-employment, in addition to the current model of employee.

"We are going to open a line of incentives to create one own job, which allows emigrants who want to return to Portugal to create their own business," announced Joaquim Moura, during a webinar on Ivestimento da Diáspora.

In the meeting with the title Investimento da Diáspora, Joaquim Moura updated the data on the return of Portuguese emigrants and said that Portugal has already received 2.100 applications from Portuguese workers abroad, having been approved 1.340.

"We received 2.100 applications, of which 1.340 were approved by the end of November, and the profile of people who are returning points to 78% of emigrants between 25 and 44 years of age, 78% of whom have higher education," said Joaquim Moura.
At the meeting, officially opened on Thursday by the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs and the Minister for Territorial Cohesion, Joaquim Moura explained that "the Programa Regressar is strategic for the country".
