Growth of Portuguese wine exports reaches 19.3% in the first semester

The total exports of Portuguese wines recorded a growth of 19.3% in value in the first half of 2021 compared to the same period last year, reveals ViniPortugal - Associação Interprofissional do Vinho. According to the association's data, there was, in the same period, a 4.2% increase in the average price.

In this semester, the United States of America (USA) and Brazil are the main highlights, with growths close to 10 million euros each. To these two countries exports increased 22.2% and 42.3%, respectively. Exports to North American lands totaled 54.7 million euros and about 32 million to Brazil.

No entanto, França continua a ser o país para onde Portugal mais exporta os seus vinhos, tendo registado uma subida de 14,5%, totalizando 56,7 milhões de euros. Seguem-se os EUA, o Reino Unido (quase 33 milhões de euros e uma subida de 12,8% em relação ao período homólogo de 2020), o Brasil e a Alemanha (28 milhões de euros e um crescimento de 14,4%).
